Indochina Voyagers builds journeys of thirteen to twenty-eight days through Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand. One party travels at a time — a couple, a family, a set of friends — with a private car and driver plus a national guide in each country, and every hotel named in the quote before you pay anything.

You want the journey booked
Twelve routes, thirteen to twenty-eight days, each with a night-by-night itinerary and a land-only price. Start at the journeys and take the one whose shape is closest to yours; the itinerary is a sketch we redraw, not a fixed product.
You know the place, not the trip
Fifteen destination pages covering Hanoi, Lan Ha Bay, Hue, Hoi An, Siem Reap, Luang Prabang, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and the rest. Each one says how many nights the place actually holds and which month ruins it.
You have dates and nothing else
Start with planning: how many days the region needs, when to go, the visa and arrival-card position for all four countries, and which legs have to be flown rather than driven.
The one fact that rearranges most Indochina itineraries this year
Every crossing has been shut since 23 June 2025 — Poipet–Aranyaprathet, Cham Yeam–Hat Lek, O’Smach–Chong Jom and Ban Pakard–Pailin. Armed clashes followed in July 2025 and again in December 2025. The ceasefire is holding through 2026, and Thai authorities have said there is no plan to reopen during this calendar year.
Older itineraries move travellers from Bangkok to Siem Reap by road, or run a Phnom Penh–Trat transfer down to the Thai islands. Neither leg exists at the moment. An operator still showing an overland Bangkok–Siem Reap day is selling a day it cannot run, and the substitution arrives as a surprise once you are already in the region.
How we route around it
- Bangkok to Siem Reap is flown: about 1 h 15 min in the air, then a 45 to 60 minute transfer from Siem Reap–Angkor International (SAI), which sits 40 to 50 km from town.
- Bangkok to Phnom Penh is also flown, landing at Techo International (KTI), 19 km south of the city — international traffic moved there on 9 September 2025 and the old airport now handles domestic flights only.
- Where a journey needs both Thailand and Cambodia, the two countries sit at opposite ends of the route rather than in the middle, so the flight replaces a transit day instead of interrupting one.
- Laos still connects overland and by rail. Vientiane to Luang Prabang takes 1 h 50 by train against roughly ten hours by road, and seats must be bought through an agent because station windows open only three days ahead.
How the company works, stated as mechanisms
A driver and a guide in every country
Each country gets its own private car with driver and its own national guide, licensed in that country. Four countries means four guides, not one escort who talks over three borders. Guides work in English only.
Hotels named in the quote
Every property appears by name with the room category, not as a star rating. You can read the reviews before you commit. Where a named hotel sells out, the substitute is put to you in writing before it is booked.
Twelve-day minimum
Below twelve days the region turns into airports. Our shortest route is thirteen days across two countries, and journeys of shorter length go to other operators without an argument.
A 90-day cancellation ladder
Long journeys commit supplier money early: cruise cabins, domestic flights and the better hotel rooms are paid down months ahead. The refund schedule steps at 90, 60 and 45 days before departure, and it is printed in the quote you sign.
What a day costs
Land only, per person per day, twin share. The figure covers hotels, a private vehicle with driver, a national guide on touring days, domestic and regional flights inside the route, entrance fees and breakfast. It is a planning band, not a quote — the quote names hotels and prices them.

Two people carry the whole cost of a car, a driver and a guide between them, which is why the two-traveller column sits so far above the group column. Nothing else in the build changes. Who we are wrong for
These limits are not modesty. They are the reason the journeys work, and saying them here saves both sides an email.
- Anyone wanting a trip shorter than twelve days. The region does not compress well and we decline rather than sell a bad version of it.
- Anyone wanting a shared departure, a coach tour, or a river ship with two hundred cabins. Every journey here runs for one party.
- Anyone budgeting under USD 200 per person per day for land arrangements. Below that number the guide days come out, and we say so rather than quote it.
- Anyone needing a guide in French, German, Spanish or Italian. Ours work in English.
- Anyone who wants Myanmar or Sihanoukville, an elephant camp, an orphanage visit, a staged hill-tribe village, or a morning at a gem and silk workshop. None of it goes in an itinerary of ours.

Questions travellers ask most
How many days does a four-country journey actually need?
Twenty-one days is the working minimum for Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos and Thailand with any depth, and twenty-eight is the comfortable version. Below twenty-one, one country turns into a two-night stop and a pair of airport transfers.
When should we go?
Mid-November to early February is the only window that is dry in all four countries at once, with late November to mid-January the sweet spot. March to early May brings 35 to 40 °C at Angkor and the burning season in northern Thailand and northern Laos; Chiang Mai PM2.5 hit 188 µg/m³ on 29–30 March 2026.
Can we still cross from Thailand into Cambodia by land?
No. All four crossings have been closed since 23 June 2025 and Thai authorities have said there is no plan to reopen during 2026. Bangkok to Siem Reap and Bangkok to Phnom Penh are flown, roughly 1 h 15 min.
Do you run departures for single travellers?
Two travellers is the minimum. A solo traveller carries the full cost of a car, a driver and a guide, which puts the day rate above the two-traveller column rather than below it, and we would rather say that up front.
